EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Jessica Blackman received her Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida in 2007, as well as a Certificate in Sports Law. During her time there, she was the Sports Law Society Secretary, Vice-President of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, and a member of the SBA Legislature, as well as the co-ed Softball Team. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology, with a Minor in Psychology, from the University of Southern Maine Following law school, she remained in Florida for 10 years practicing solely as a Defense Attorney for State and Federal Workers’ Compensation Claims. During that time she was also the President of the Lee County Bar Association -Young Lawyers Division, an active Board Member for the Friends of 440 Scholarship Fund, Vice-President of the Palm Beach County Human Rights Counsel, a Founding Member of the Florida Association of LGBT Lawyers & Allies and a Founding Member and Vice-President of Jupiter PRIDE. Since completing her JD, she has been admitted to the State Bars of Massachusetts and Florida.
When not practicing, Jessica has a myriad of hobbies which include spending time with her family & friends, especially her seven nieces and her Cocker Spaniel “T”, being a foster mom for the cocker spaniel rescue, crocheting, traveling the United States in search of great local breweries, and watching the Red Sox!
